Asparagus cordon bleu

 

Ingredients (4 servings):

8 asparagus
Cooked ham slices (the number depends on the size of the slices)
4 slices of Gouda
100 g flour
100 g of bread crumbs
2 eggs (medium)
1-tablespoon butter (for water asparagus)
1-teaspoon sugar (for water asparagus)
salt
Pepper
100 g butter (for frying)

Preparation:

Cook the asparagus in water or steam them.

Beat the egg, add salt and pepper.

Place ham slices on a cutting board, cover with one or more slices of cheese and 2 asparagus and roll.

Roll first the asparagus roll in the flour, then in the egg and in then in the breadcrumbs.

Melt the butter in a large frying pan and fry the rolls until they have a nice colour.

Serve with boiled potatoes or salad and / or hollandaise sauce.
