Gyros with tzatziki

Ingredients (4 servings):

500 g pork meat
1 onion
2 tablespoons
olive oil
pepper
salt
paprika powder
1/2 teaspoon
thyme
1/2 cloves of
garlic

For the tzatziki:
1 cucumber (or 2 small ones)
5 cloves of garlic
100 g feta cheese
250 g yoghurt
2 tbsp oregano
5 basil leaves
pepper
salt

 

Preparation:

Cut the pork meat into finger-thick strips and place it in a bowl. Peel the onion and it into slices and mix it with the meat. Add the olive oil and season with pepper, salt, paprika, thyme and crushed garlic.
Stir well and put the mix in the refrigerator overnight to marinate.
Fry in pan on all sides without oil. Arrange on plates and serve with tzatziki.
It can also be served with salad, tomatoes and onions in a pita bread.

Tzatziki:
Crush the garlic cloves and wash the basil leaves and chop them finely.
Cut the feta cheese into small cubes, peel the cucumber and cut it into small cubes.
In a bowl mix the yogurt, the cucumber cubes, the feta cheese and garlic and stir well.
Add the oregano and chopped basil leaves.
Season the tzatziki with salt and pepper.
